6 Months Old!

Aiman:

You are six months old!  What can I say about the last two months?  You have just become so much fun to be around!  You are talking, laughing, sitting, rolling, playing with your toys and eating lots of different foods (currently you like all things orange – butternut squash, sweet potatos and carrots – oh my!)  You love taking baths, going for walks and hanging out with new people.  The only thing you hate is sitting still!

You go for walks with your dad when I am at work and he tells me that everywhere he goes people comment on how cute and sweet and smiley you are.  You have become such a charmer!

You have been teething the last few months, which I can tell is painful, but you seem to be handling it as well as can be expected.  You already have two teeth and two more are very close to popping out.  I can’t wait until those little teeth make their appearance!

I am so excited to see what the next two months will bring.  You are so close to crawling and, even though you are going to be hard to keep up with, I can’t wait for you to be moving around.  I know it will make you happy to be able to explore the rest of the house.  You keep showing what a special, smart, curious and happy little guy you are going to be and your dad and I can’t believe how lucky we got having such a wonderful person as our son.

Happy Birthday To Me!

I am 32 25 today!  It has definitely been a big year.  I can’t believe a year ago I was just a few months pregnant and now I am looking over at Aiman rolling around on the floor, talking to himself and trying his hardest to crawl (but mostly just sliding around on the carpet using his face as leverage).   I am a very lucky lady.   Now if we could just get Aiman to sleep for more than 5 hours at a time my life would be absolutely perfect!

Parenting Advice: Part 2

As you all know, I am a wealth of awesome and crucial parenting advice.  Even though I have only been a mom for 5.5 months, I am a complete parenting expert. In an effort to pass all that I have learned on to other new moms, I have put together my top 3 parenting tips.  Parents, these are words to live by.

1)  Never allow your infant to chew on your fingers.

2)  Never allow your infant to chew on corn cobs.

3)  Never allow your infant to chew on bones.

You’re welcome.

Baby’s Firsts

I have to start recording Aiman’s “firsts.”  First smile, first laugh, first steps and today … Aiman’s first sushi.   I never thought it would have happened at 5 months old, but what can I say … the kid’s advanced for his age.

(Edited to Add:  No babies were harmed in the making of these photos.)

A Few of His Favorite Things …

I read a number of different mom blogs and sooner or later they all do a list of things that they love for their babies.  I have a LONG list, but I thought I would do them one at a time when I have cute pictures of the little guy to share.  For today’s installment, we have Baby Legs!  I bought my pairs of Baby Legs on sale before I knew whether Aiman was a boy or a girl, so his are a touch on the feminine side.  Truth be told, Baby Legs are little more than glorified leg warmers for kids, so they kind of have girlishness built in, but I don’t care!  Baby Legs are the best, they keep his legs warm, they are cute,  I don’t have to take his pants on and off every time I need to change his diaper and – the best part – it is literally impossible not to sing songs from Flashdance whenever he is in them.  And Flashdance really just makes life worth living.

He’s a maniac …

Note to teenage Aiman:  For this, I totally deserve whatever teenage angst you throw at me.  I am a bad parent for broadcasting these pictures to the world.  I can’t help myself! You will appreciate them when you are older … much much older.

Note to moms of boys:  Baby Legs actually has some pretty cute, very boyish varieties, like these skeletons:

And these cute little preppy numbers:

I will probably buy these at some point, I just can’t resist!
