Smile!

Prepare for your cute fix of the day.  Aiman has been smiling for the last couple of weeks but I just finally caught it on camera.  Ack … he is just so adorable!

But Aiman … what big eyes you have!

Move Over Stephen Hawking

It’s official, my son is an amazing genius.  I think it is only a matter of time before he begins doing quadratic equations and curing cancer.  Last night my little 6-week old prodigy went to bed at 10:30 p.m. and slept until 6:00 a.m.!  I am sure I read somewhere that sleeping through the night this young is a sign of an IQ well over 140.  I was so shocked when I woke up and it was light outside that I spent the first minute or so trying to figure out if he had actually woken up through the night and I just forgot about it, then the next minute or so debating whether to wake Riaz up and inform him of this momentous occasion.  In the end I decided that he had actually slept through the night and that a 6:00 a.m. wake up call probably was not the best idea for my slumbering husband.

So there you have it … behold, the next Einstein!

Father and Son

I swear I am working on a real post that involves more than just pictures of my perfect son (Episode Three of How Alaska Met Australia anyone …?), but I am (1) short on time; (2) neither clever nor witty; and (3) locked in a constant battle with Riaz over valuable computer time.  So, for at least a few more days, you will have to settle for pictures.  I love this one I got of Aiman and Riaz.

Aiman loves to sit up, sometimes he passes out in that position and his little head just falls to the side.  I’m sure he will need some serious chiropractic care in the future, but for now I will just take pictures of him contorting his little body … like this one.

A close up …

(and yes … if you must know … I did retouch the picture to minimize his baby acne … I never said I wasn’t crazy).

untitled

I wanted to come up with a catchy title for this picture, but I haven’t gotten much sleep in the past month or so and my ability to be clever is suffering.  I could only come up with cheesy cliches like “Reflections …” or “Mirror Image …”  Ugh – you would think a regular blogger such as myself could do better than that, but since I am clearly incapable, just enjoy this cute picture of Aiman.  (Oh – and if you can come up with a better title, leave it in the comments!)

Who are you and what have you done with my baby?

Riaz’s parents arrived today.  I desperately want to make sure that they think I am doing at least a passable job as the mother to their most recent grandson so, we gave Aiman a bath last night.  We have given Aiman a few baths and it has been … trying …  Aiman does not really enjoy baths.  Witness the attached video.

This movie requires Adobe Flash for playback.

Does it make me a bad person that I giggle uncontrollably every time I watch this.  He is just losing his little mind.  It’s hilarious.  Aiman’s first, second and third baths all looked like the attached video and I was not looking forward to giving him another, but women who let their kids smell are bad mothers, right?  So (in order to impress the in-laws) Aiman was definitely getting a bath – I filled Aiman’s little tub and we got ready to give him as fast a bath as possible so as to ensure he not burst a blood vessel in his brain.  So imagine my surprise when we put Aiman in his bath and this is the look we got …

Not exactly excited, but certainly not screaming his head off.  After that we got this …

Cute right?  He seems sort of happy.  Then we washed his hair and got this almost smile …

I don’t know who this baby is, but he seems to like baths, and he slept for 5 solid hours last night – so my plan is to figure out a way to keep him in a bath for at least 15 hours a day, because he likes it, it makes him sleep and it keeps him from smelling.  Win! Win! Win!
